Glass is sent to Strategic Materials in East Troy, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois. It is processed into cullet, or crushed glass ready to be re-melted and processed into new glass jars and bottles (supplying breweries right here in Milwaukee!). Strategic Materials recycles some of the glass into products for alternative markets, such as fiberglass for insulation and small glass beads for use in reflective paint for highway striping.
