Recycling benefits our environment, our economy, and our society. It creates cleaner, greener communities and supports jobs. Recycling also saves the City of Milwaukee money because instead of paying to dispose of material in a landfill, the City earns revenue from the sale of recyclables to industries that rely on them to manufacture new products. Each year recycling revenues put about $1.5 million dollars into the City’s general fund to pay for city services that benefit you and your neighborhood.
